N52 Neodymium magnet block : 20mm L x 10mm W x 2mm H
Abbreviations and Conventions used Storewide
All Dimensions are in Metric Scale (mm); Conventions and abbreviations used throughout the Store:
L : Length | OD : Outer Dia | ID : Inner Dia | W : Width | H : Height | T : Thickness (also Height) | CS : Countersunk | G : Gauss
The terms Force or Pull Force are used interchangeably throughout the store and refer to the maximum observable or tested maximum pull force against a 10mm thick grinded finish mild steel plate (ideal conditions). The pull force will depreciate with thinner plates or sheets. The Pull force or Force is expressed in lbs, Kg or N.
[10N (Newtons) = approx 1 Kg = approx 2.2 lbs Pull Force]
It may be noted that most of our raw magnet products are magnetised through the Z axis (axial). While other directions (through Length 'L' or Width 'W') are equally possible, the most common construction is magnetisation axially (which we refer to as H or T)
Dimensional tolerances
Typical dimensional tolerances for sintered magnets (depending on size and complexity are as follows
Neodymium (NdFeB) : ± 0.1
Samarium (SmCo) : ± 0.1
Ferrite / Ceramic : ± 0.2
AlNiCo : ± 0.01
