Model & limitations:

We have calibrated our pull force models to fit directly to actual surface-contact measurements against a 10mm steel plate at ambient temperature (25°C).

We assume very conservative values for the Brmax for any grade of magnet and are thus able to assure a minimum guaranteed level of performance. A few other online calculators use very aggressive values of Brmax which may be used with necessary caution.

Our values are based on the material composition that can be practically realised at the manufacturing level. Having said that, the magnet calculator is a product of a complex formulation including material property, edge factor correction, extensive lab testing and extrapolation, and is solely intended to provide a guideline for magnet design.
